Aspeq is proud to announce its new partnership with Innovative Young Minds (IYM), sponsoring three students to attend the IYM Residential 2025.
This marks Aspeq’s first year supporting the programme, reinforcing our commitment to empowering young women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and high-tech manufacturing (STEMM).
The IYM Residential 2025, held from 29 June – 4 July 2025, is an immersive STEMM camp designed to inspire and challenge Year 11 and 12 students from the Greater Wellington region. Participants will step outside their comfort zones, gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge industries, and connect with leading innovators.
This year’s programme includes:
- Exploring the Milky Way Kiwi Planetarium
- A behind-the-scenes tour of Wellington Airport
- Insights into BRANZ’s work on safe and sustainable homes
- Networking sessions, a parliamentary reception, and a graduation ceremony
Since its launch in 2017, IYM has empowered over 750 young women across New Zealand, with 84% of past participants now studying or working in STEMM fields. Aspeq is excited to play a role in shaping the future of female innovation, supporting students as they explore career pathways and build confidence in the industry.
We look forward to following the journey of our sponsored students and seeing the impact of their IYM experience!
