For over 50 years, the Walsh Memorial Scout Flying School has been a cornerstone in the aviation community, drawing budding pilots to Matamata for a two-week immersive program aimed at kindling and nurturing their passion for aviation. The event provides a unique opportunity for students to engage with experienced instructors and influential figures in the industry from across New Zealand.
The comprehensive program is designed to not only fuel enthusiasm for aviation but also to expose participants to various aspects of the industry. Attendees have the chance to win coveted scholarship prizes, with four recipients set to benefit from Aspeq's sponsorship.
Over the years, the Walsh Memorial Scout Flying School has seen over 1700 students earn their Scout Wings, a testament to the program's effectiveness in shaping the future of aviation. Many alumni return to further their aviation training, highlighting the enduring impact of the school on the careers of these young aviators.
