Aspeq and NZAWA Join Forces to Empower Women in Aviation Through 2024 Scholarships

Apr 19, 2024

In a bid to promote diversity and inclusivity in the aviation sector, Aspeq proudly announces its continued collaboration with the New Zealand Association of Women in Aviation (NZAWA) with the Aspeq Scholarships for 2024. This initiative underscores Aspeq's commitment to fostering talent and supporting the next generation of pilots.

The announcement comes as Aspeq reaffirms its long-standing dedication to nurturing aspiring aviators through its continued sponsorship of the Walsh Memorial Scout Flying School programme. With the introduction of the Aspeq Scholarships, the company aims to provide tangible opportunities for professional advancement within the aviation industry.

The Aspeq Scholarships will offer one set of Private Pilot Licence (PPL) exams to one candidate and one set of Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) exams to another. The recipients of these prestigious awards will be unveiled at the highly anticipated Women in Aviation Annual Rally slated for June 2024.

In addition to the academic support, Aspeq is extending a $1,750 scholarship to alleviate the financial burden associated with attending the Walsh Memorial Scout Flying School, further demonstrating its commitment to empowering aspiring pilots.

These scholarships are exclusively available to members (of at least 2 years) of the New Zealand Association of Women in Aviation, reflecting Aspeq's dedication to championing gender diversity in the aviation sector.

The applications for 2024 have now closed however for aspiring aviators keen on seizing these remarkable opportunities, Grace Hills, Secretary of NZAWA, extends an invitation to reach out for more information [email protected]. Announcement of the winners will be made at the annual rally in Ashburton from 31 May to 3 June 2024.

The collaboration between Aspeq and NZAWA reaffirms the shared commitment to shaping a more inclusive future for aviation professionals worldwide.
