Proud to partner with Scouts Aotearoa

Oct 20, 2022

Aspeq is proud to continue our long-term support of the next generation of pilots with our continued sponsorship of the Walsh Memorial Scout Flying School program.

Over two weeks each year, around 70 young adults head to Matamata to attend an excellent jam-packed program to encourage and nurture our future pilot’s interest and build enthusiasm for potential careers in aviation. Students get to mingle with and learn from experienced instructors and critical industry people from around NZ and have the chance to win a range of scholarship prizes, which Aspeq provide to four recipients.

The program has been running for 56 years and is a well-known annual event in aviation circles; over 1690 students have gained their Scout Wings, and many return later to further their aviation training.

Our CE, Hamish Findlay, is looking forward to presenting the Aspeq Awards and meeting with the students at the Wings Presentation and Awards dinner in January 2023.
