New and Improved Customer Websites

Jun 8, 2020

We are very excited to be improving the all-around Aspeq customer experience by launching our new and enhanced websites for each of the organisations that we assist with our assessment services. For the last year or so, we have been busy developing a fresh new-look and feel for our candidate booking portal system called TRUI, which stands for ‘Tasman Responsive User Interface’.

Waka Kotahi Examinations Portal

We first launched this for our long-time client NZTA in February, and the next organisations on the list to receive their customised sites this week are Fire and Emergency NZ, the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board, and the Institute of Directors.

The TRUI project’s intention was to renew and replace the customer user interface of the Tasman system, which is what each of our client’s exam candidates currently use to create an account, book an exam, and view their results.  The reason for this upgrade is in the TRUI name. ‘Tasman Responsive User Interface’ refers to the site now being much more intuitive and user friendly, as well as now being responsive for all types of devices including desktops, tablets, and smartphones. Besides now being a lot easier to use, the site has also received a massive makeover.

Our development team have worked hard (including through the Covid-19 lockdown) to ensure every little detail in the layout and usability of the customer interface is up to a high standard; from making the registration process a smoother experience, to moving notifications out of the way unless urgent. Every change or improvement has been thoroughly thought out. Navigation around the site for the most common uses has been kept in mind and feedback was gathered during internal and external focus groups throughout development to ensure the site looked good and, more importantly, worked well.

The new sites have also been developed to improve accessibility for all users and include improved keyboard navigation and readability. All informative content is being reviewed and updated as we release each organisation’s new website to ensure that it meets WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) AA Standard to ensure that everyone, whether they are colour blind, partially blind, or even fully blind, can interact with our websites by using a screen reader.

We will be continuing to introduce the improved customer interface to all of our clients gradually over the upcoming months and are extremely excited about the improved service this will provide to all test and exam candidates.
