Keith Manch, Director of CAA New Zealand Visits Aspeq

Sep 7, 2022

Aspeq was delighted to welcome the Director and Chief Executive of the Civil Aviation Authority, Keith Manch to a site visit on Monday 1st August.

Aspeq Chief Executive Hamish Findlay stated, "We are proud to have such a close relationship with CAA New Zealand spanning 30 years and we are grateful for the opportunity to meet with the Director and introduce him to the members of the team at Aspeq."

Keith Manch stated, "Aspeq is an important part of the aviation system, so I was keen to visit and get a firsthand understanding of what they do and how they do it.”

This visit represented a significant milestone for Aspeq as it was the first time the Director of New Zealand’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had visited us, and we appreciate the time he took to engage with our team and provide his perspective on the wider international aviation regulatory environment. We are proud to have delivered high stakes examination services for CAA over the last 30 years, including Flight Crew and Aircraft Maintenance Licenses by Delegation from the Director. We also continue to maintain a close relationship with the CAA Personnel Licensing Team through the ongoing monthly operational meetings.

During his visit Mr. Manch met with a selection of the Aspeq team who provide coverage of our operations, including Aspeq Chairman Paul Le Gros, Chief Executive Hamish Findlay, Director Business Development Mike Lynskey, Business and Process Analyst Liz Bennett, and Senior Customer Service Representative Lorraine Palmer.

We appreciated the time the Director spent interacting with the team to understand the services we provide, including question bank development, high stakes exam delivery around New Zealand, CPL Flight Tests, Overseas License Conversions, and Aviation Language Proficiency testing, as well as our operations with aviation authorities around the world.

We then discussed our joint interests in international aviation regulation and cooperation in the Pacific. We thank Keith Manch for his visit and hope to have him visit again in the future.
